My amp came with EL34's, but I swapped them for KT77 JJ's (good and inexpensive) then eventually Gold Lion Kt77's (great and somewhat more expensive). likewise with KT88's just more so. It excels in delivering a smooth overdrive with a pronounced midrange that cuts through a mix, especially when pushed to its limits for that classic rock distortion.
